It’s been a week! Oh my, has it been a week!

(Forgive me for my lateness here; I nearly fell asleep on the computer last night - again!)

Writing

I haven’t published a lot this week. I have one post that I wrote that is pretty much done that will get posted next week, and I’ve been working on a post in my head, but this week has been insane! This is what I managed to write:

  • Sunday Gratitude 6.V.2023

  • Wordless Wednesday #29 - Sacred Heart/St. Jude the Apostle Church, Oshkosh

Breaking the Silence on Abuse in the Convent
“It’s your obligation to speak the truth, and everyone can either take it or leave it. But the truth must be in us. We live in such a poverty of truth today.” (Mother Angelica) Religious communities are responsible for providing those who enter the convent with spiritual formation that leads them to become closer to God, a…

    How I Survived the Titanic
It is a tragedy that has haunted and intrigued the world for over a century. On April 15th, 1912, the 'unsinkable' RMS Titanic sank beneath the icy waters of the North Atlantic Ocean, taking with it the lives of over 1,500 people. The disaster has become part of our collective memory, immortalizing in its wake the stories of the passengers who were onboa…

Watching/Listening

Jordan Peterson, Biblical Series II: Genesis 1: Chaos and Order

It’s absolutely fascinating how he comes at these, not coming from a theological or historical perspective. There’s a lot of good and interesting things in this - I was listening in the car - and there’s a small point he makes that I meant to mention in another post, but that post remains unwritten as of yet.

Megan Follows reading from Anne of Green Gables in 2020

And Megan Follows auditioning for Anne of Green Gables back inthe 1980s:

Abbot Tryphon, on transitions. I read once that a good leader is planning for his successor from day one.

Music

Die Prinzen - Be Cool, Speak Deutsch

This is hilarious, but so true! The amount of English that’s getting thrown into “modern” German is insane!

The long-awaited sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is finally here. The music from Breath of the Wild was stunning from the first moment the game loaded up. We haven’t played much, and it sounds like the music in Tears of the Kingdom is very good, but it hasn’t grabbed me quite the same way. In any case, the full soundtrack:
