Lots of news out there about Tucker Carlson. We haven’t had cable in ages, so I don’t have much of an opinion. However, as conservative thought got squelched in the more mainstream avenues, like a thousand tiny little fires, there has been a lot of decentralization of voices. Sometimes it makes things more difficult to go through, but it also makes it much harder to silence completely. There has never been a better time for someone to go independent. (Breitbart)
Uninstalling Pokemon Go (Churape’s Dungeon and Stuff)… When companies seem to dare even their most die-hard fans to leave. Not exactly the “Bud Light” fiasco, but if you’re selling a product, insulting your base is deadly.
Steven Crowder reveals he has been going through "horrendous divorce" since 2021, accuses other conservative commentators of "extortion" surrounding split (Not the Bee) Divorce is horrible. Doing so in public, against one’s will has got to be unbelievably difficult. Lots and lots of ghouls on social media cheering over this, though. Some of the situation seems kind of weird but I do suspect that one or both of his kids are facing health issues - at the very least, it would make stressing their health and safety like he did make more sense AND it would also make why he stressed that it wasn’t the fault of either of them fit better.

Right to Repair is actually a big deal, and it affects a ton of industries. Colorado passed the first “Right to Repair” bill dealing with farm machinery, after something similar was defeated in New York. (Ars Technica, via Ambient Irony)
Watching/Listening:
This is the Tucker Carlson speech at the Heritage Foundation. There are a number of profound things here, but one of the last points he makes is how we ought to tell each other we love each other. I’ve been trying to do that over the last several months, though it often still feels awkward. And then, sometimes it’s not. https://www.youtube.com/live/ebG2POkoHgU?feature=share
Writing:
I did a fair amount of writing this week. The writeup and discussion of the film An Affair to Remember with
and Erin from Still Life, With Cracker Crumbs was a lot of fun. These were this week’s posts:Laughing…
A British museum gave out crayons to little kids and you can probably guess what happened next (Not the Bee) …
Jordan Prince celebrating the birthday of the Reinheitsgebot - which strangely enough is not one of the 10 Gebote (10 commandments)!
(Actually, the EU nullified the Reinheitsgebot years ago, but most German breweries still follow it anyway).
