I blinked my eyes, and another week had passed by. Seriously. Lots of appointments and shuffling dates and rearranging things, but I don’t think anything got forgotten completely. I just don’t remember a lot of the week anymore. As long as the kids get to school okay and I get the trash can out on Thursday morning, I’m doing good - or so I’m told. Oh, and no hospital visits, praise God!

Reading
Shavarsh Karapetyan, The Armenian Swimmer Who Became A Hero - All That’s Interesting | I come back to this story every now and again because it’s such an incredible story of self-sacrifice and bravery. The man still lives, but he’s a legend!
U.S. Doctor Stripped of Citizenship for a Ridiculous Reason – PJ Media | For what it’s worth, US law is pretty clear that the children born to foreign diplomats in the US during their service are not entitled to US citizenship. That it seemed to be granted to this man anyway doesn’t seem like it ought to be something that can be undone “just like that”. On the other hand, most places consider a US birth certificate “proof of US citizenship”, when, indeed, it isn’t necessarily the case.
Grieve to the Glory of God - Kelly Needham (via archive.org) | The site is now defunct , but it was a good piece
The Lord in the guise of a woman - Gladsome Lights | On the woman who finds her lost drachma and the woman with the three measures of flour making dough. The full piece which this is from which the excerpts come: https://www.roca.org/oa/volume-xi/issue-107/woman-as-a-symbol-of-christ-bishop-nikolai-velimirovic/
Substack Has a Nazi Problem - The Atlantic | How convenient!
Mom of young Chiefs fan rips Deadspin for accusing him of racism - NY Post
PlayStation To Delete A Ton Of TV Shows Users Already Paid For - Kotaku | Do not trust digital media for anything you want to keep! At this point, VHS would have been better!
The Teacher Who Wouldn’t Bow - Frontpage Magazine | On the unexpected blessings that sometimes happen because of doing the right thing.
Watching
I watched two movies this week, The Shift and A Hidden Life, about the life of Franz Jaegerstaetter, who courageously resisted taking an oath to Hitler during WWII.
We Survived 80s Halloween - The Holderness Family | If you wonder why people started getting really nervous about candy being tampered with, one just needs to remember 1982, with the (still unsolved) Tylenol cyanide poisonings.
The Minnesota flag redesigns are out of control
A young man raising his niece and nephew after a tragic accident gets an unexpected Secret Santa gift - East Idaho News | The man’s mother had permanent custody of the kids, and after she died, he decided to continue on caring for them.

Do the Amish celebrate Christmas? (Short answer, yes, but they’re not decorating the house with strings of lights!)
Who are the young royals and the next generation of the Royal Family? - Sky News | None of these people are going to be king - or queen. However, it was interesting to see the “longer list” of people who are in line to the throne. Would you renounce your claim to the throne if you were #45?
Dick Biondi - Wikipedia | I had not heard he had died. I listened to him a lot on WJMK 104.3 in Chicago.
So, that was the week that was… How was your week? What did I miss?
