To those who celebrated Easter this past Sunday - Christ is Risen!
I don’t necessarily have a “problem” with Easter - Pascha - being celebrated on a different date from the West the majority of the time, but when there’s five weeks in between, like this year, it seems somewhat ridiculous. Over the last couple of years, especially, it’s made me really feel like this is not the way things should be. And no, I don’t think that the “old calendar” is sacred. (Quick! Burn the heretic! *L*) I don’t know that I would have been ‘ready’ for Pascha on March 31st this year, because I’m not used to that either anymore. (And I’d have to quit doing my Easter candy/gift shopping two days after Easter when everything is half-price. Yes. And we could joke about that once as well!)
The week’s been weird. It started off with what seemed to be progress, and has kind of slid from there. I got to meet up with a couple of friends, which was amazing, but from the middle to the end of the week, I got hit with some sort of bug which hasn’t made me super-sick, but has sapped me of a lot of energy. I vacillate between trying to push through and trying to get some rest, and this thing was definitely on the “get some rest” side.

J.K. Rowling is going viral for testing Scotland’s new hate speech law by “calling a man a man.” 10 of them, in fact. - Not the Bee | As much as Harry Potter is fantasy, there’s a lot of political commentary in there, starting from about book 3 or so. One of the big themes there is what happens when evil rises up and leadership doesn’t want to deal with it. Rowling isn’t stupid, and one mustn’t forget that in the books, under Umbridge, Harry bled for “I will not tell lies”.

I watched the movie Past Lives on the recommendation of a friend. Wow. Hopefully, I can write up a whole post; it’s a beautiful film about love and friendship and those who fate would have hold something of us. I’m not crying - you’re crying!

This is a little unrelated to everything, but I made a friend at the Touchstone Conference back in October who is raising funds for a Ministry Trip to Brazil this summer. Her name is Karina, and if you’d be interested in helping her raise funds to go, you can find out more here: Global Awakening Ministry Trip Page .
So, a roundup with no Jordan Peterson or Jonathan Pageau! *L* Strange, right? I just can’t do anything requiring too much concentration when I’m not feeling good, especially the headache that came ‘round Thursday. In any case, what did I miss? What’s going on in your part of the world? Anybody excited about the eclipse?
For those of you who get my “bonus” post for being paid subscribers, I posted that earlier today. Thank you everyone! Hope you have a great week!
