This was another weird week weather-wise; we went from fairly normal temperatures last week to a very hot Labor Day weekend down to one day this week (Thursday) that didn’t even hit 70F. The last couple of years, I haven’t been able to deal with this sort of thing very well; the kids got in the car on Thursday and I begged them to not fight on the way home because my head wasn’t feeling good. It’s weird, because I don’t really get migraines, just these stupid headaches that are vaguely painful but make me feel like I’m more than a little seasick. Luckily, I was able to nap for about an hour and whatever had been causing this to happen stopped. Besides that, for the most part, it was a pretty normal week, all things considered. Tons of stuff to do, but that’s normal too.
Writing
I know, I need to get back into writing more again. I’ve been trying to get up early, but if I manage that, then I’ll try to get a jump on things that can run awhile with little supervision. The day gets kind of shot with running errands and the like, and then the evenings end up having a fair amount of chaos as well with everybody back home again.

All the Authors We Forgot Along the Way - Miller’s Book Reviews | Interesting here in general, but especially since he writes that C.S. Lewis figured he’d be forgotten in 5 years.
You Are My Sunshine is not necessarily a ‘happy song’ | Boondock Ramblings | I don’t think I had ever known there was more than the one verse!
Sheriff Slams Burning Man Attendees Who Abandoned Cars and Left Behind 'Trash for Miles' - Breitbart | Mark Belling was talking about the disaster of Burning Man this year on the radio as well. Seems like quite the LARP! (Live Action Role-Play.)

BREAKING: WI school district defends offering kids guides to anal sex and sex kinks, claims the content passed the “selection guidelines" - Libs of Tik Tok | This hits close to home, as they’re basically one school district over. KUSD has gotten a lot more “woke” even in the last 2-3 years

Listening
I discovered I can use my bluetooth earbuds while mowing the grass! This is exciting!
A Miracle at the Hyatt - The Story of Abbess Aemiliane - Ancient Faith | What is not mentioned is that this woman is also the aunt of the boys who formed the band Hanson (of MmmBop fame), but that’s not at all what she’s talking about. There’s also some good philosophy of translation in there.
I listened to this while mowing the grass. It feels like Peterson is trying to give advice for more than a little bit of the interview:
Learning
Music
Sorry, I have to do this:
My mom liked Western music, so this brings me back
A lot of Smash Mouth getting played in the wake of their lead singer’s death. Fifty-six seems crazy young these days:
Creepy and amazing at the same time:
Amazing how people are inspired by music:
