Even when the going gets tough
I’m still hanging in there, as the saying goes. Way back when, one of my aunts, who was not even a smoker, had a metal Virginia Slims keychain that said “You’ve come a long way, baby”. I don’t think I remember cigarette advertising on television, but I certainly remember that being one of the taglines of the 80s, along with “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.” Both are about getting one’s mind right when dealing with adversity. That’s still important today, and probably the main reason why I do the Sunday Gratitude posts.
