"A Cloud of Outrageous Blue" by Vesper Stamper - Book Impressions
A book helping to regain momentum on an old habit
Right off the top, I really liked this book. Not only did I enjoy “The Tender Bar” so much, it reminded me that I wanted to get back into reading, but this was a book that I just devoured. It really is different than a lot of books out there; in a very slight way, it reminds me of “Redwall” by Brian Jacques, just with the setting of being in an English religious community, but as an outsider. Hi Katja: Wow I checked this out, this book as well as others by Vesper Stamper. She certainly seems to share my interests! My goodness - life as an outsider in an English community, two brothers living in the time of communism, an a holocaust survivor. I knew she was a speaker and had seen her life story, but I had not paid enough attention to her books. Thanks.
I also love the pic (Ai?) which is so very English village at night, a house or convent or what have you. I am back in the Cotswolds taking a moonlit walk when I look at it. Just so English.
