I can relate about driving; it is soul draining for me. I spent the last 8 months doing a 6- 6.5 hour drive, twice weekly. In addition, it wasn’t uncommon to have to go to Chicago or Cleveland, which would be another 4-5 hours each way. Life depleting in every way. I was feeling like a machine. I’m not having to do it this summer and am very thankful.

Driving like this makes me anti-automobile and anti-paved roads, anti-industrialization, and just anti lots of things. It makes me angry and hopeless. I have begun to wonder if God will judge me harshly for not finding a way to not do it because everything involving driving is so anti Creation.

Anyway, I’m happy you aren’t having to drive for awhile and hope my comment isn’t too negative. Driving makes me hopeless like nothing else; staying put at home and in nature makes me hopeful.
